That’s why, since 2019, Red Energy has partnered with Taronga Zoo through the Taronga Conservation Society of Australia - supporting their vital animal conservation work, powering the Seals for the Wild presentation, and supplying them with 100% renewable electricity.

Powering Taronga Zoo with 100% renewable electricity
Red Energy powers Taronga Zoo Sydney and Taronga Western Plains Zoo with 100% renewable electricity. The switch to renewables means that Taronga Zoo Sydney and Taronga Western Plains Zoo are the first zoos in NSW to be powered entirely by renewables.
Our renewable electricity powers the Wildlife Hospital, treating injured animals, the seal pool filtration pumps, and the heat lamps that keep primates comfortable — ensuring care and comfort come without a carbon cost. Together, we’re proving that renewable power can protect the planet it draws from.

With the Red Wildlife Saver plan, Red Energy contributes $60 each a year directly to Taronga Conservation Society Australia when you sign up your electricity.

* Offer only available to residential electricity customers in NSW who sign up to the Red Taronga Flex plan. Eligible customers will receive one Zoo Friends Family Flex annual membership which includes 1 Adult Family Flex pass (which once activated can be used by any adult you nominate to accompany your children to enter Taronga) and Child Family Flex passes for any children aged under 16 years residing in your household for unlimited use at Taronga Zoo Sydney and Taronga Western Plains Zoo Dubbo. You will be eligible to receive the Zoo Friends Family Flex annual membership on transferring your electricity to Red. Customers who change energy providers and move back to Red are entitled to a maximum of one allotment of zoo membership every 12 months. A valid email address is required to receive Zoo Friends membership. Limit of one Zoo Friends Family Flex annual membership per Red Energy account holder.
