Moving out of a property and disconnecting your electricity and gas only takes a few simple steps.

If you are a Red Energy customer, you can simply organise a move or disconnection under the ‘Profile’ section of the Red Energy app.

I am moving home and need to organise a connection and a disconnection of my electricity and/or gas

If you wish to disconnect your existing property and organise a connection at your new address start by:

  1. Logging into MyAccount
  2. Select ‘Move home’ in the menu
  3. Be sure to select ‘Yes’ under ‘Do you need to disconnect an existing service?’
  4. Complete and submit the form.

If your existing property is with a different electricity provider you will need to contact them to organise the disconnection.

If your move is urgent and you can't provide at least one business day's notice you can call 131 806 before 12pm Monday to Saturday and we will do our best to arrange a same day connection. You are not able to organise a disconnection on a weekend or public holiday. Urgent connection fees and disconnection fees may apply.

I need to disconnect the electricity or gas at my property

If you are a Red customer you can arrange to have your electricity or gas disconnected by:

  1. Logging into MyAccount
  2. Select ‘Move out’ in the menu
  3. Complete and submit the form

Please note that disconnection fees may apply. You are not able to organise a disconnection on a weekend or public holiday.
