With approved proof of authority and account information, the below people can access a deceased estate account:

If you are a family member or friend not acting in an official capacity, you can call Red Energy for general advice and notify us of a person’s passing.
What are your options?
There are a number of options when it comes to the existing account, we can either transfer the account into another name or close the account. If you are unsure of what to do, you can notify us, please see below for more information about these options.
Transfer the account
If you’d like to keep the electricity or gas connected at the property please contact Red Energy on 13 18 06 to arrange for the account to be moved into another name. When we speak with you, you will need to provide us with the following information:

The deceased’s name and account details
- •○
Proof of your authority to act (e.g. Grant of Probate, Will or Letters of Administration)

Contact details for of who is managing the estate.
Close the account
If the energy supply is no longer needed, we can close the account, please contact Red Energy on 13 18 06 or email us at info@redenergy.com.au. When you contact us you will need to provide the following information:

The deceased’s name and account details

Proof of your authority to act (e.g. Grant of Probate, Will or Letters of Administration)

Confirmation of date to finalise the service
