100% Australian, 100% local
We came in to the market in 2004 to shake things up and we’ve been doing a good job of it ever since. We’re all about providing you and your community with something better. Unusual for an energy provider, we know. But we’re not your normal energy company. We’re completely owned by Snowy Hydro for starters, so we’re 100% Australian.
100% of our award-winning Customer Solutions Team and our head office is in Melbourne, Australia. So when you call you’ll always be answered by a friendly voice and you’ll have that same person help you from the beginning to the end of your call. Our customers tell us over and over that’s how they like our service - personal, simple and easy.
Our customers have voted. And we’re very proud of our team and of the awards they’ve helped us win. In fact, we’re the only energy retailer to have won the Canstar Blue Award for Most Satisfied Customers 13 years in a row
Our approach to service is simple. We keep it simple. Customer requests are handled by a single point of contact, a locally-based team member. It means our customers don’t get the run-around and one person is accountable for dealing with your query.
Doing business a better way
At Red, we’re serious about making our environment better. That’s why we’ve made changes to the way we work, reducing our carbon emissions across our business operations. And we are now the largest energy retailer in Australia to have its business operations certified carbon neutral by Climate Active.
At Red we’re proud of our people and their commitment to customer service. We strive to provide great customer service and offer you and your community with something better.
About Snowy Hydro
Snowy Hydro Limited has a long and proud history as an Australian company. The construction of the Snowy Mountains Hydro-electric Scheme is a well documented part of our nation’s history and we are a great example of Aussie innovation and ingenuity. The Federal Government became the sole shareholder of Snowy Hydro Limited in March 2018, after purchasing the NSW and Victorian Governments shares in the company. Snowy Hydro continues to be a Corporations Act company with an Independent Board of Directors.
Red Energy has been part of Snowy’s business for more than a decade and in 2014 Snowy added Lumo Energy to its retail portfolio, bolstering the household and business retail customer base to almost one million account holders.
