Qantas Points offer a gateway to incredible rewards, including all the elements that make up the perfect holiday. How to earn Qantas Points: The basics

1. Use your Qantas Points earning credit card on your everyday spending:*

Using a credit card that earns you Qantas Points is a savvy strategy for your everyday spending. By simply leveraging your regular purchases, such as groceries, utilities, insurance, mobile phone bills, and even your daily coffee, you can accumulate points faster and get closer to your travel goals. However, it’s essential to pay your credit card balance in full each month to maximise the value of your points.

Additionally, if you share household expenses with a partner or family member, consider a card that allows multiple cardholders to ensure you never miss out on earning points. With over 30 Qantas Points earning credit cards available, you have the flexibility to choose the one that best suits your needs.

2. Double dip on Qantas Points:

‘Double dipping’ on Qantas Points is a clever way to maximise your rewards. This strategy involves earning points through multiple channels simultaneously. For example, when you use a credit card that offers Qantas Points for your purchases, you're already earning points. By combining this with other Qantas Points earning opportunities, such as paying your Red Energy bill on time, shopping through the Qantas Shopping Online Mall or booking flights directly with Qantas, you effectively ‘double dip’ on points, accelerating your journey towards your next getaway.

3. Be a savvy shopper:

You’re probably already shopping with online retailers. By shopping at your favourite brands through sites such as Qantas Shopping, you can earn up to 8 Qantas Points per dollar spent. Just log in with your Frequent Flyer details and click through to your chosen store to shop and checkout.

4. Travel smart:

Booking your next holiday? From cruises, insurance and car hire to hotel accommodation and even pet sitting, Qantas has a diverse range of partnerships to cover almost all of your travel needs. That means you could be using one escape to earn points for the next.

Now that we’ve covered the basics, let’s delve into additional ways to earn Qantas Points:

1. Electricity/Gas:

Power up your Qantas Points by switching to a Qantas Red Energy plan with a new residential address.

You can join Qantas Frequent Flyer for free and earn 10,000 bonus Qantas Points for electricity and 5,000 bonus Qantas Points for gas when you pay your first energy bill in full, plus earn 2 points per dollar spent on your energy bills when you pay on time.^ If you’re an existing Red Energy customer, you can switch to a Qantas Red plan in MyAccount or call us on 131806.

2. Airfares:

Earn Qantas Points by booking eligible flights with Qantas and Jetstar. What most travellers may not know is that you can also earn points if:

  1. You book an eligible flight; and
  2. It’s with a carrier that’s a Qantas Frequent Flyer partner airline or a member of the oneworld® alliance – the global airline partnership that Qantas is part of. Some of these airlines include British Airways, Emirates, China Eastern and Fiji Airways. So that city stay or beach break you want to take could earn you points towards your next trip! 3. Accommodation:

Did you know that you can earn 3 points per $1 spent at Qantas Hotels, with over 200,000 hotels to choose from?+ Check out the full list of Qantas accommodation partners here.

Some big international hotel chains also let you convert their points to Qantas Points. So if you’ve got points with a variety of different hotel loyalty programs, consider consolidating.

4. Banking:

Planning a big purchase like a house or car? Why not sign up for a loan that could earn you points? Find out how to turbo-charge your points balance through banking here.

5. Car hire:

Need a city runabout for a business trip? Or a family holiday car? Or even a moving van or mini-bus? Book a car and drive up your Qantas Points balance. You could earn 4 Qantas Points for every $1 value on eligible time and kilometre charges on car hire in Australia.#

6. Alcohol:

Purchase premium wines, champagne and spirits from Qantas Wine to earn 1 point per $1. Qantas Wine Premium Members pay an annual fee of $99, have access to exclusive specials and earn 3 points per dollar.∼

7. Eating in:
