Electricity safety – New South Wales

If you are building a new home or planning on doing renovations and require electrical works to be done, you must use a qualified Accredited Service Provider (ASP). More information about the Accredited Service Provider scheme can be found here.

There are three levels of Accredited Service Provider (ASP) who are accredited to perform different types of services. To find an Accredited Service provider visit Energy NSW here.

The Service and Installation Rules (Rules) for New South Wales cover the requirements for the connection of electrical installations. The Rules are used by electricians and Accredited Service Providers and can be viewed here.

You can find your electricity distributor emergency number on your bill.
